Need to buy my Psych/Maya books soon. I'll have to find that gift certificate I got from Chris' Aunt Dahna though... otherwise I won't find anything to use it on, I think.

First Psych test is thursday... fun fun. I might actually see if I can buy the book at the Textbook Annex and return it in the next 3 days or whatever, according to the return policy, so I can have it to study for the test. It isn't *that* important since the lowest test grade is dropped entirely but I don't want to have to worry about it too much.

In WoW, Astrum is getting closer to killing Nefarian. I really hope I am there for the first Nef kill. I am a priest so I have pretty good chances... a priest who was online at invite time has never been denied a spot in the raid (for BWL) that I know of.

I may be able to see Kendra at the library later today =) Depends if I am asked to go see a girl for 391 help during that break.

Hiya! I'm one of Kurai's friends, and I'm looking at buying a new gaming laptop. She pointed me towards you, because apparently you have a really awesome one. XD Could you possibly give me some info on the specs/brand, if it's not too much trouble?

Hey Unni :D

I personally have a Dell inspiron 9300. I got it from dell.com (at the time they had a REALLY sweet deal, I saved about $700). You don't necessarily have to get a dell of course, but as far as my research went, they usually had the best deals. (Their "gaming laptops" are of course very expensive, but I was able to get this one in their regular home&office section)

I can't find any Inspiron 9300s on their website anymore (I guess they are "old"? I got mine last fall). But if you go to Dell outlet you can find one to check out the specs and whatnot:

http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/topics/global.aspx/arb/online/en/InventorySearch?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh

Here I refined the search to show "256" Video cards. These are all laptops with very similar specs to what I ended up buying. That's my exact video card (it's awesome - if you want to see how WoW looks, just check my livejournal picture gallery for screenshots). Great frames per second too.

Buuuut, this laptop might not be for you too! I guess it depends :) The price is probably going to be 1100-1500 depending on what kind of deal you're able to get. I ended up buying this one with only 256 mb RAM and then bought more ram somewhere else, because it was too expensive to buy already inside the laptop. The other biiiig (haha) problem with this laptop is, well, it's big. It's pretty heavy too. It's a 17" moniter (which is great for games) and it can really feel like a huge weight if you carry it around a lot. I use this laptop primarily at home, I bring it to school once or twice a week and I use it at LAN parties :D But if you plan on bringing it everywhere with you, you may want to look around a bit more to see if you can find a 15" or even 13", although it may not be as easy to find a great video card with it.

You can also try to check Ebay for a similar build ;) Anyway, I would stand by the RAM not being that important. I usually find out other specs of the computer and then look up what kind of RAM I need to purchase on crucial.com. Then I purchase it at zipzoomfly.com or newegg.com because they usually have the best prices :D That way you can get a great computer for a little bit cheaper than otherwise, and then buy the RAM separately.

I strongly recommend the Nvidia geforce go 6800 that I have, it's great. There's a 7800 out now, but I'm not sure if it exists in mobile form yet.

My processor (which works pretty well) is a Intel Pentium M 1.6GHz, it feels a little slow at times but a lot of the "slow" feeling I got disappeared when I bought more ram. It can be a little slow to boot up but other than that it's lovely, and all the laptops selling on the dell outlet website look like they may be faster anyway.

Feel free to ask me any questions, this was a little scattered :D
