Yesterday was great!! I presented in dean's book and he let me leave early to go to the computer animation talk. The guy there had graduated from UMass and has a job in Worcester, with... New Balance? I actually forget the name of the company but he made this commercial looking thing for the shoes and showed us a lot of his work. He mentioned the computer animation convention that takes place every year which I REALLY want to go to, but I don't think I'll be able to make it this summer (plus I'd probably have to go alone if I did, to LA, hahahaha no) but I'll definitely try next summer.
Anyway he talked about various things you should do with your reel when you submit, and talked about being persistant in order to get a job. He didn't get an animation job for 1.5 years after he graduated, eep, but it's hard to find those kinds of jobs around this area (New York is easier). Anyway though it really made me happy to hear about the things he was talking about, I can't wait to learn some 3D programs and learn Flash better so I can start building up a portfolio for myself. I really need to work hard to get as much experience as I can before I graduate.
Okay, Japanese class time now :(
