Powershifting in 2.3?
Nov. 19th, 2007 06:54 pmI was giving some thought to "powershifting" today. Basically the 'art' in WoW of shifting out of form when you are out of energy and shifting back into cat form after, so you can get the benefit of the energy bonus (if you have Furor). Well, there used to be a global cooldown so it wasn't always good if you didn't time it correctly. But with the lack of global cooldown now, you can shift directly back into cat which almost certainly would make it beneficial if you have no energy and can use a global cooldown.
I want to test this really bad so I think I might respec Alaphrei to feral tonight and try it XD

Date: 2007-11-20 02:33 pm (UTC)Last night I was trying the /cancelform /cast Cat Form macro and I found I used it well about 50% of the time and totally screwed it up about 10% of the time (ie I shifted when I had too much energy and ended up wasting some). I think if I had a mod that tracked when energy is going to tick, and I could see my energy easier and still be able to hit the macro (macro isn't keybound, and the button and my energy are on opposite ends of the screen) then I could use it much more efficiently.
Of course when I was trying all of this, I foolishly forgot to use Omen of Clarity until more than halfway through the instance. I suck D:
