ayashiright now i am very anxious and pissed off but i'm not going to talk about it! yay!
i just finished reading battle royale... it was really good. there aer a lot of things that after reading the book suddenly made more sense. (and of course all the scenes that seemed stupid or impossible in the movie made a whole lot more sense, because they happened differently. things were naturally changed for more dramatic effects between the book and the movie.) i looked at some pictures (was thinking of making a few lj icons) and looked on ebay to see if i could find a poster, just a small one though for $10. so i didn't really think of getting it.
been cleaning my room for the past hour or so. i've been letting it get really messy and today i knocked over the SAME pile of cds like 5 times, and it was pissing me off, so finally i started cleaning up. i found my tablet pen (yay! it had only been missing for today though, so i wasn't that worried), and i finally moved those stupid cds onto the top of the plastic storage box my mom got for me for apartment stuff. i finished filling it up today. most of it is taken up by the comforter my mom gave me from her old bed (it's like a king or queen size, but that doesn't matter, in fact, it's better than a full), and the cheap plastic cups that i got. a few other things are in there, like 3 of my 4 stupid plastic toy dragons (which are awesome so bugger off :().
sorted out some clothes for this weekend.... still have a bunch to put away, but i don't have enough hangers so they've been going on the table in front of the closet.
i don't really know what i just spent the past few minutes writing about :/ nothing worth knowing, certainly. oh well, getting the rest of my junk off the floor now, then going to wait for chris to call :/ i thought he'd be home earlier, oh well. i don't really feel good so i'm probably going to bed right after he calls, need to get a good night's sleep before work tomorrow morning.
I put this cd in to rip something for bludstone, and then i started listening to it, and i haven't taken it out since. a shame that this cd's version of the song wasn't the one he's looking for. :/

Date: 2004-08-12 02:15 pm (UTC)I got a summary-thingie from Steph about Battle Royale II and it sounds like I might enjoy it more than the first one. Because for the first one, I kept thinking about my classmates having to kill each other and that bothered me...so why did you hate it again?

lots of the things that happened make NO sense, meaning from the first to second movies. shuya going from normal boy to desert nomad = lame. the story in itself wasn't as good, lots of parts were kind of boring (unlike the original where i was on the edge of my seat the entire time)
whereas with the first movie, it was actually good, this one wasn't :P some things in the story didn't make sense and it didn't seem as well thought out as the first. you can tell that the first one has some sort of basis to it in book-form, and this one didn't. the kids aren't as cool or likeable because they're all punk bratty kids, not normal junior high students. whereas in most circumstances i cared about the people dying in the first movie, in the second most deaths were people being really dumb or i just didn't care because the character sucked so much. lol i don't know i just really hated it. obviously some people (erin, steph) like it, buutttt not for me, the story/characters/everything was just much more mediocre. (also some of the things that shuya does in the movie, or that are talked about in the movie, are not at all things that he would do according to my knowledge of his character, from the first movie and the book)

Date: 2004-08-12 09:09 pm (UTC)I wanted to see another cool interesting UNIQUE movie about teenagers killing each other. (All the reasons you say you didn't like it are my reasons for liking it. I brings up thoughts about killing your own classmates etc) The first was an interesting and artist film. The 2nd tried to be an epic which it WASN'T had a plot I don't care about and that didn't make sense. So many things happened that WOULDN'T at all if it was really happening. I don't mean stupid japenese funny things like the first had. The kids reactions in the first were believable. This one they weren't at all. Plus it was a war movie. I want to see a game where one kid survives, not a war. Kids dying in war gear all with guns is not cool. Seeing one girl with a taser go against the girl with the knife is fucking cool. Plus the second had long BORING parts with no action, just dialogue but unfortunatly BAD dialog (according to the topics talked about in the sub titles, maybe original japanese is better, but it's not like subtitles change topics)
The story was dumb, the sets and costumes were dumb, the plot was dumb and I don't like war movies or guns. I hated it :)
