I totally just tried to use my lj client to set an away message in aim :((
I am going to bed way too late

I got a lot done cleaning my room. well okay I guess it wasn't "cleaning" so much as making it more messy but more organized! maybe i'll be done by tomorrow if i'm not too lazy. i work tomorrow in the evening (erm, I think... *checks* yes 3-9 like I thought) and oh yeah I got midsummer night's dream this weekend which I am excited to see, and Chris bought american splendor and big fish which i can't wait to see either, might watch one of those if he comes over this coming weekend.

otakon is soon too! i'm excited for it, i haven't really thought of being excited about it though :) i've been excited about the "soonest happy event coming soon" and something has always been before otakon (including now looking forward to Chris coming up maybe) so i keep forgetting that it is so soon. hotel is all taken care of (super cheap), ride is all taken care of (mom's new van), and yay!! I also have over $200 in the bank still which rocks. Except that I still owe Kendra just under $200 now (200 - (35 + 80) = $185) and I need to give Jared that $80 the next time I have the chance to see him so really I don't have 200 at all, I'm broke. I'll pay Jared asap because he needs that money for Otakon (and in a way that's me paying back Kendra some since she owes him the $80 and we're just chopping it off what I owe her), and then with my first paycheck after Otakon I'll try taking care of another chunk of what I owe Kendra :) Then I'll focus on buying whatever I need for the apartment next year and as soon as I know I'm all set financially until I start getting CPPA paychecks, I'll pay Kendra back (either with what is left of Bombay checks or I'll give her half of both my CPPA paychecks when I get them) and then I'll be PAID UP.

I am just glad that my first experience being "truly" away from home and not in a dorm situation has all utilities included. Dad is going to pay for the apartment until I get my excess checks, and I'll be putting them in the savings account I have (to keep it separate from the money I use and spend) and using it ONLY for rent. I'll split food costs with Chris (much like we have anyway when we went grocery shopping, just now it'll be more stuff and more variety) and of course pay that with CPPA paychecks. I am very lucky with my financial aid right now, especially since we can't afford for Erin to go to Western (dad is actually taking the "bad" loan (meaning you have to immediately pay and it starts adding interest right away) that I'm getting so that he can use the money to pay for Erin's college).

I never really thought of the money I'm getting in grants and loans as "my" money, since dad has been paying for my college (whatever loans do not cover) so in the past excess checks ALWAYS went to him, now they're all mine! Which is a pretty scary thought. It'll probably be the most money I've had in my bank account, ever, and I have to make sure I don't touch it EVER except for rent. (Make it last.)

I wrote way more than I intended to, good night. (this weekend was great, I'm in such a good mood :) it was fun meeting new people and seeing the slide show and of course just hanging out with Chris, and I got some cheap dvds out of it (midsummer night's dream for 9.99 and the two volumes of Gasaraki for $7.99)
