want to learn how to sew

I really want to learn how to sew, and make clothing. I have some cool fabrics from old pillowcases, or I have old HUGE shirts that I don't wear except to bed. I'd love to be able to cut them up and make them into shirts that actually fit me (or in some cases into skirts). But I'm too scared to cut them up and ruin them :( I really really want to learn though. It would be so cool to turn some of my too-small shirts from when I was little or my too big shirts (because so many freaking free tshirts are like XL and I'm a S, or rather, a YL (sometimes small doesn't quite fit me) x_x) into shirts that are really nice! I want to learn soo bad :(

Mom had this pillowcase that's pretty, it's white with blue flowers on it and she was going to throw it away (I think we have NONE of the rest of the set and it's old), so I snatched it. I think it'd make a really cute skirt! I'd have to put white fabric under it too though because it's pretty transparent. But I can't sew so it's sitting in my room not doing anything at the moment x_o damn it.

Anyway I'm going to clean up my room and then try to clean up the house a smidge, since I don't really have a lot to do and it'll still be a while until Kendra comes over. Not sure what we're going to do ;~; but we'll figure something out.
