So I went to the Mest/Something Corporate/Good Charlotte concert last night. It was fun, not the best concert ever (Dashboard and Something Corporate are way above it) but yeah. So now to write about that.
Mest played first (which I thought was interesting, they played before Something Corporate o_o). They seemed to kind of be jerks, I didn't really like them at all. And they changed lyrics (Drawing Board, one of my FAVORITE songs, where they're like "write a song to sing to you" he sang instead "write a song to kill you to" and I was like ARG. That's a really sweet song, why'd they have to change the lyrics XO it was like they were trying to be more punk than any of their cds are, blahblah. And, during "Fuct up Kid" they changed "all the things I want are all the things I've got" into "all the drugs I want are all the drugs I've got" (or something like that, I don't know the lyrics perfectly) and that was annoying too, especially since they HAVE to know that 50% of the crowd at a Good Charlotte show is going to be 12 year old girls.
And, while we're on the topic of 12 year old girls, we had like EIGHT OF THEM sitting RIGHT behind us (Chris and I). They were all standing up during Mest (because Benji I think it was sometimes would walk out onto the stage or start singing with them every once in a while). Anyway, they would be like SHRIEKING "I LOVE YOU BILLYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!" and SHRIEKING the lyrics to all the songs that Good Charlotte sang, but anyway...
Something Corporate was great as always :D They played after Mest, but um, what's with the different piano? It wasn't the same piano :( It had something like "we are your friends" written on it, but I couldn't read all of it, so I THINK it said "we are your ____ ____ friends". They didn't play "I Woke Up in a Car" which disappointed me ;_; but they played a bunch of other good songs, including Konstantine :D which of course was beautiful. He introduced it like "I bet around 3000 of you are going to have no idea what this is, or why it lasts for so long, but we're gonna play it anyways" and it was sooo good, I loved it.
Good Charlotte was good too, I liked them, but their part of the concert seemed so... long :x and the screaming girls were REALLY REALLY annoying. But oh well, overall I like the concert, my favorite part by far was the Something Corporate part, and Mest disappointed me because I thought I'd like them, but oh well. I can just like their cds and I never have to go to another concert with them in it ever. I have mixed feelings about Good Charlotte, I think I'd have liked them more if all the kids were taken away, and the Mest guy annoyed me AGAIN by coming out on stage smoking and blowing it in one of the guy's faces, which would have been okay in like, a normal show, but I think it's important to realize what kind of crowd they were playing for, there were lots of young kids there (I saw this one group of girls too young to even have breasts, the breasts they had were only because they were a bit chubby, all dressed up "punk" etc) which I have to admit is the parents' faults, but still, they irritated me beyond belief.
Anyway, so I'm happy, its really hot outside, BLAH. Going shopping later though probably, so that'll be fun! Yay :D And the new Something Corporate video (for "Space") is great :D
