registered for classes today
Apr. 20th, 2004 04:34 pmI just signed up for classes... the 3D modeling class is full :(( and to make matters worse, SPIRE sucks at life and wouldn't let me add the Flash class. ("Prerequisites Not Met" my ass, I'm in the prereq class NOW) I called the Comp Sci department and hopefully it'll be solved by tomorrow... so though I am all prepared for 20 credits, I can only be signed up for 11 at the moment. I can't add the Comp Sci 391 TA thing until add-drop come September (which is when I'll do my credit override) and I can't add the art class because I'm not in the art department, and it'll be added by the department secretary when everyone else on campus gets to choose their classes.
I think that's the single most stupid thing in the world... if I'm a junior whose major needs a class in order to graduate, I should be able to take it BEFORE a freshman in that department... not after. I wish they would give BDIC majors access to any of the departments they need to be able to get classes in (such as art) but that'll probably never happen :D (sarcastic smile).
Since I couldn't get into 551, I added Comp-Lit 393C to my schedule, so instead of taking that one or two semesters from now, taking it now... pushing 3D modeling and animation classes both back one semester. Pretty much sucks, but at least my Mondays and Wednesdays are looking much better now :D My tuesdays however, are doom. I have class from 8AM-9PM :( with 3 breaks, two of them are ~2 hours long, which I can put TA office hours or work in there, and one is 45 minutes long, where I'll try to squeeze in dinner. Soo... probably means stressful days on tuesdays, but it makes the rest of my week pretty nice... fridays I only have one class once again. I would have gotten away with NO CLASS on fridays, but freaking Japanese history (which meets Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) is only open to freshman and sophomores... (which is funny, when I was a freshman I couldn't take it!) so I'm taking Physics instead which unfortunately meets on friday :P
Yay BDIC office just called and said my proposal was accepted :D not that I thought it wouldn't be... but always that scary possibility was in my mind. Now all I have to do is head to the BDIC office during some free time and fill out the change of major form. I'm officially no longer undeclared :D
Aside from the mess with my schedule (since 551 was closed which is very surprising... only 10 seats in the class but usually it doesn't fill up until later anyway) today has been a good day! When Chris gets back we're going out to eat with his mom and sister, and then come back here and do work I guess. I have to do a web project for my art class and if I have time probably I'll work on my comp sci project some more.
