gg umass

Sooo UMass managed to scare me half to death :P

I got an email today telling me that I would be withdrawn for the university by November 28th if I failed to pay my bill. Wtf? I did pay my bill and I got a giant excess check! How the hell did I not pay for my bill?

So I check spire... and I owe... $187. -_- Yes UMass, please withdraw me for somehow magically owing you a tiny amount of money after you charged me tuition/fees and then AFTER giving me my excess check, randomly tacked another $187 on there. You are geniuses.

And now I go back to writing notes for my research paper! I'll be paying the Bursar's Office a visit later today -_-

Rofl! I hate schools when they do crap like that. At least it's not that big of a deal. When I was going to Oakland I had to wait until the MIDDLE of the semester to get my refund check. What if I had rent? What if I had bills? Oh, then two weeks after the fact they sent me a bill for ALL of it back! It was like $4000. I am so lucky that I hadn't spent any of the money yet. The fucking bastards.... I hate that school, lol. :D

One of my students last year, straight A's, didn't get in to UMass when it's a done deal if you have a C average or greater coming from a Comm. Coll. He called to ask why, and they said they hadn't gotten key parts of his application. Two hours on the phone later, it turns out that part had fallen behind someone's desk - he made them look for it and find it! They let him in. But so did Cornell, and took all his transfer credits.
